Put it down and go. No scanner, no aiming.
A flat reading surface that lies on a desk or workbench, with a built-in antenna. You put an item down and it is registered. For a counter, a packing table or an issue point that is faster than any handheld, because there is no action left to do.
Connected with one USB-C cable, which also supplies the power. No separate adapter and no network.

When this fits, and when it does not
Wel
- Register single items at a counter, packing table or issue point
- Work without aiming: no line of sight is needed as with a barcode
- Connect to an existing workstation with one cable
- Read small numbers at a time, up to about half a meter
Niet
- Read a whole box or bin in one go: that is what the scan bin is for
- Shield what lies next to the reading surface, because there are no walls
- Read at meters of distance, unless you connect an external antenna
- Run along in a throughput process: there is no transport
