Knowing that it reads, before you buy anything.

The question almost everyone asks first is not what it returns, but whether it works here. On metal, through those crates, at that pace. That is not a question for a quote and not one for a presentation either: you measure it, with your own material, on your own floor. One visit is enough for that.

1,500 euros, excluding VAT. We come to you with the equipment and the labels. Nothing gets installed and nothing changes in your ERP or WMS.

The boundaries

What a test day does and does not give you

This sits up front and not in the list of questions at the bottom, because it is the reason this amount is right. A test day is meant to be small, and that is a quality.

What you have by the end of the afternoon

Wel

  • An answer to whether your objects are readable with an RFID label
  • Two or three label types tried on your own material, not on a test block
  • A sense of the read range and the reliability at your working pace
  • An honest verdict on whether barcode is the better answer in your case

Niet

  • A calculation of what it returns, because no baseline measurement was done for that
  • A worked-out proposal for reading points and equipment
  • A connection to your ERP or WMS, not even as a trial
  • A guarantee up front that it will work, because that is exactly what we measure

If you do want to know what it returns, the Proof of Value is the step that belongs there. The test day comes before that question and is deliberately priced below it: if it does not read, there is no point in calculating any further, and then you knew that for 1,500 euros instead of for a multiple of it.

How the day runs

The visit, in three parts

We come in the morning or the afternoon, depending on when your process runs. What we need is access to the floor and someone who really knows the work.

  1. 01 / Setting up and lining up

We put the equipment down where the process happens and briefly go through what you want to track. No installation, no network, no configuration: everything runs off the battery and on our own equipment.

  2. 02 / Trying labels on your material

We stick or clamp different label types onto your own objects and read them, standing still and in motion. Metal, moisture, packaging and stacking all do something to the signal, and you only notice that with the real items in your hand.

  3. 03 / Walking through one process

Then we walk through the action the way you normally do it, and see whether the reading fits there without adding a step. At the end you hear what did and did not work, and why.

What we bring

Everything comes with us, the labels included

You do not have to buy anything or prepare anything besides the objects themselves. We bring handhelds, a fixed reading point if that is relevant, and a set of labels in different versions: plain labels, on-metal labels with a spacer, and hard tags for when something has to be screwed, clamped or glued on. Whatever stays on may stay on, the rest we take off again.

Duration
Half a day, at your location
Price
1,500 euros, excluding VAT
Your part
Access to the floor and someone who knows the process
Preparation
None. The objects you want to track are enough
Five reading devices side by side on a table: a pistol scanner, a wearable scanner with a strap, a flat reading plate, a rugged phone and an RFID handheld with a pistol grip.

Where this sits in the sequence

Three steps, and this is the first

They build on each other. What a test day proves, a validation day optimizes, and what a validation day produces, a Proof of Value works through into money and consequences.

Test day
1,500 euros. Does it work here at all?
RFID validation day
2,500 euros. How good can it get?
Proof of Value
From 3,500 euros. What does it return, and what does introducing it cost?

Already sure that it reads and want to know what it returns? Then skip this step. See the Proof of Value.

What people put to us

Three objections, and the honest answer

Why do I have to pay for something a supplier normally comes and does for free?

Because a free visit is a sales visit. Whoever charges nothing brings the equipment he earns the most on, not the labels that work best on your material. And what costs nothing is the first thing both sides push aside once it gets busy. This amount does not buy attendance but an outcome: a measurement on your own material and an honest verdict, including when that verdict is no.

And what if it turns out not to work?

Then you know that for 1,500 euros instead of after an investment. We write down where it got stuck, and whether that is the material, the placement of the label or the process. Often there is a route around it, sometimes not. In that last case we say so, and then you are tied to nothing.

Can we not just get a demo?

You can, and then you see our gear working on our material. That is exactly the demonstration that predicts nothing, because your metal, your packaging and your pace are not in it. A demo convinces the meeting room, a test day convinces the floor.

Practical questions

How soon can you come?

Usually within two to three weeks, depending on the calendar and on where you are. We work from Zaltbommel and cover the whole of the Netherlands and Flanders. Travel costs are included in the amount.

Does production or the warehouse have to stop for this?

No, and that is the point. We prefer to measure while the work simply carries on, because a read moment that only works when it is quiet does not work.

Do we get a report of it?

You get a short written summary of what was read, with which label, and where it went wrong. A worked-out report with a baseline measurement, a second measurement and a calculation belongs to the Proof of Value; that is the difference between the two.

Is the amount deducted if we continue?

No. The three steps are separate assignments with their own price, and a deduction would mean that at the first step you are already signing for the second. What you learn on the test day does shorten the next step: we then do not have to redo the label choice.

We already have RFID and it does not work well. Is this still useful?

Yes, and this is one of the most common reasons. An existing setup that disappoints almost always has a traceable cause: the wrong label for the material, an antenna pointing the wrong way, or a read moment sitting at the wrong place in the process. That can be established in half a day.

Book a test day

The more concretely you describe what you want to track and in what kind of environment, the more targeted the labels we can bring. A photo of the object helps more than half a page of text.

Only if you would rather be called.

Where does this mainly play out?

Pick whatever comes closest. If you are in doubt, pick the one that happens most often.

An estimate is enough. This determines whether a Proof of Value makes sense.

Write it in your own words. How often it happens and who notices is worth more than a tidy story.

Your details go toSQUARE Conceptsand nowhere else. See the privacy statement.

Shall we come and measure it at your place?

Put one process on the measuring stick. One location, temporary labels and a baseline measurement, with a clear go or no-go.
